The QMCPACK Users Workshop 2023 is scheduled at Argonne National Laboratory from Tuesday, 12th December – Thursday, 14th December.
This 2.5-day workshop is intended for current users and developers of the QMCPACK ab initio Quantum Monte Carlo code. The agenda will include research presentations, tutorials on new features, and significant time for discussion and feedback on the direction of the code and methodology. The workshop will consist of full days on the 12th-13th and a half day on Thursday the 14th. Users and developers of other codes and electronic structure methodologies are fully welcome.
Every attendee is encouraged to present a poster on their current work. A best poster prize will be awarded on the final day.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own research problems to discuss with the QMCPACK developers and other QMCPACK users.
There is no registration fee. Support for accommodations at the Argonne Guest House is available.
In person attendance is strongly recommended, however a virtual option will be available. With permission of the presenters, recordings of talks will be made available on the QMCPACK YouTube channel. To allow for full discussion and exchange of feedback, the parts of the program focused on the direction of the code will not be recorded.
Registration is required for either in person or virtual attendance. After applying, please wait for confirmation before making travel arrangements. Confirmations will be given on an ongoing basis.
This workshop is a successor to the popular virtual QMC workshop held in 2021 and the prior QMCPACK users workshop held in Oak Ridge in May 2019. Materials and recorded talks from these workshops are available at https://github.com/QMCPACK/qmcpack_workshop_2019 and
