In this hands-on session, attendees will learn how to use ALCF and Globus services on ALCF systems to programmatically submit and manage jobs, move data, and connect computing resources into scientific workflows. These capabilities are already being used to support real-time analysis of experimental data from facilities such as the Advanced Photon Source.
Attendees will also work with the ALCF Inference Service, which provides access to large language models and scientific AI models running on ALCF systems, and learn how to integrate these models with agent environments such as Claude Code, Codex, and others.
By bringing these services together, researchers can build agentic workflows that coordinate data, computing, and AI to carry out scientific tasks. Participants will work through simple and more advanced examples and leave with a working agentic workflow setup that they can adapt to their own research.
Please follow the following steps to register for the workshop:
STEP 1:
a. Request an ALCF Account if you do not currently have one*
b. If you have an ALCF Account that is currently inactive, submit a Reactivation request*.
c. If you have an active ALCF account, click Join Project to submit a membership request*.
*Specify the following in your request:
- Project Name: alcf_training
- Principal Investigator (PI): Yasaman Ghadar
Non-US citizen account requests may not be approved before the workshop. However, attendees without active ALCF accounts are still welcome to attend the workshop but will not be able to run on ALCF systems.
After applying, proceed immediately to Step 2. Do not wait for activation of your ALCF account.
