In this talk aimed at a general scientific audience, I will provide an introduction to IQM and our mission of developing a quantum computer. The talk will begin with a brief introduction to quantum computing and quantum algorithms. I will next present our work at IQM, highlighting key factors that make our architecture unique, before diving into applications we have demonstrated on our hardware. I will conclude by discussing our ongoing work to develop a fault-tolerant quantum computer.
