Workshop Registration Steps:

Thank you for your interest in the PESO Community Workshop (June 8-9, 2023). This web site is intended to provide information on the background of PESO and our goals and objective for the upcoming workshop.

The PESO Community Workshop will be held onsite at Argonne National Laboratory, June 8–9, 2023 (in person only, not hybrid).

We hope you will attend.

  1. To reference the agenda please go to the following address: https://bit.ly/peso-workshop-june2023

  2. Please also complete the Argonne Visitor Registration Form (link on left panel) to receive a gate pass to access Argonne National Laboratory. The Argonne Visitor Registration is separate from the Workshop Registration and must be completed to receive a gate pass for onsite access (even if you have an HSPD-12 badge from another lab).

As a complement to the in-person workshop, we welcome community members to participate in online PESO Community Discussions (see https://lssw.io for details).

We request that anyone who would like to attend online planning discussions or the workshop also complete the PESO Planning Input form to provide preliminary perspectives on software sustainment.

Background: The project PESO (Toward a Post-ECP Software Sustainability Organization, https://lssw.io/PESO) is collecting input from the broad community of stakeholders to help determine requirements for post-ECP software sustainment.

The intent of the PESO project is to optimize the sustainability and impact of DOE-sponsored software used in large-scale scientific computing. PESO intends to provide crosscutting and aggregate activities that help teams be effective and efficient in their efforts to produce high-quality and sustainable software.

PESO Community Input: We invite community input through three complementary means:

Together, these will help to capture requirements and explore organizational strategies that will lead to a robust post-ECP software-ecosystem sustainment effort.

We specifically welcome input from people representing the following interests:

  • Developers and leaders of scientific libraries and tools that are used by the DOE advanced scientific computing community.

  • Application developers who are significant users of these libraries and tools – including those from DOE, other US agencies, US industry, and international scientific communities.

  • Leaders from commercial software and hardware companies who develop, use, distribute or support open-source scientific software libraries and tools as part of their business.

  • Leaders in building scientific software communities, especially people focused on improving the inclusivity of these communities.

  • Program managers from DOE and other US agencies whose funds support the development or use of advanced scientific software and tools.
